As 130 Special Olympic athletes prepare to heat up the tracks on May 28th at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium, Coca-Cola will ensure they remain cool and hydrated.

On Saturday May 28th 130 Special Olympic athletes from Abaco, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama, and New Providence will participate in the Annual National Track & Field Meet, and they will be hydrated all day long thanks to Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), the local producer of Coca-Cola products. CBC, will be at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium serving Dasani, Powerade, and Vitamin Water to all of the participants and volunteers from 9AM – 3PM.

“Special Olympics Bahamas is very pleased to have Caribbean Bottling Co. come on board for our National Track & Field Meet, and provide our athletes and coaches with a variety of Coca-Cola brand products”, says Gilbert Williams National Director of Special Olympics Bahamas. “We are expecting that both the weather and the action on the track will be extremely hot, so keeping our athletes cool and hydrated will be a task made simple, thanks to Caribbean Bottling Co., its volunteers and most certainly its products!”

“Did you know that The Coca-Cola Company is one of the Founding Partners of the Special Olympics?” asks Cara Douglas, Marketing Manager at CBC. “Similar to The Coca-Cola Company, CBC has a long standing relationship with both the Special Olympics, and general youth development in our country. For this reason it is with great pride that we volunteer to assist at this weekend’s National Track & Field Meet, and ensure that all of our athletes are hydrated as they compete.”

Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), has donated over 850 beverages, made a donation toward their annual publication, and some of their staff complement will be volunteering to assist during the Annual National Track & Field Meet.

In addition to the 130 Special Olympic athletes competing from 9AM – 3PM, there will be a very special “Torch Run” during the Opening Ceremonies. 100 officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force will be on hand to participate. Be sure that you come out and support our Special Olympic athletes at the Tomas A. Robinson Stadium on Saturday May 28th from 9AM – 3PM.
