Section 49C of the Parliamentary Elections Act allows persons to qualify as Special Voters if they come under the following groups:
- Individuals who will be sick as a patient in a hospital on Referendum Day;
- Individuals who, or females because of recent childbirth, may be temporarily away from their home constituency on Referendum Day;
- Individuals who may have to travel and will not be in their home constituency on Referendum Day;
- Any candidate or his/her spouse;
- Election Agent, Election Official, Poll Worker or staff of the Parliamentary Registration Department.
All persons who fail within the above categories can apply to the Parliamentary Commissioner for a "Special Voter Certificate" to vote at the Advanced Poll on Tuesday, 31 May, 2016, by completing the Form K no later than 20 May 2016.
