Phenomenon -- that's the best word to sum up Disney's "Frozen." Children belt out the tunes at the top of their lungs. There have been "Frozen" themed birthday parties, teenagers sing "Let It Go", even college students have been known to have movie nights -- and even the adults without children have been caught up in its snare, so it goes without saying that one day we would have seen some of the characters come to town, and they have.

Elsa, Olaf, Anna and Sven have come on board for the seventh Soft Touch Productions event that has been dubbed "The Frozen Adventure Circus", and sing and dance to the delight of "children" of all ages with shows through April 20.

The "Frozen" foursome will join a variety of acts that include the Michael Jackson impersonator, a magician, clowns, the contortionist, and the hand-balancing act as the circus comes to town once again. The iguana that made its appearance a few years back, which scares the children, who still want to touch him though, has returned to the show, and grown to an impressive four-and-a-half feet in length.

"I didn't realize how popular the 'Frozen' characters were until someone suggested I do this circus, and lo and behold, the children have gone crazy," said David Wallace of Soft Touch Productions.

Elsa said she was excited to bring the beloved character to The Bahamas and to the circus event to give children who had never seen a circus show or experienced the characters the opportunity to do just that. The one thing she said she was trying to do since being in The Bahamas was to keep from melting due to the warmth.

The poised, regal and reserved Elsa will take to the stage with the daring Anna, as well as Olaf, the friendliest snowman who likes warm hugs and Sven, a reindeer with the heart of a Labrador.

The circus kicked off in Grand Bahama two weeks ago where they did eight shows, before moving on to New Providence for a 16-show schedule to a number of schools, which kicked off with a performance at Sybil Strachan Primary School.

With four more days of performances left on its schedule, two shows will be held today at St. John's (SJC) Auditorium for pre-school students and the special children at the Stapledon School for the Mentally Challenged, and the Centre for the Deaf; and for a government primary school.

On Saturday at 8 p.m. the public can take in the approximate hour-and-a-half hour long show at the SJC auditorium, and parents can take in the fun of the circus under the guise of taking their children. Tickets are $15 adults, $13 children.

The show goes back to school performances next week Monday with shows at the Kendal GL Isaacs Gymnasium for students from 10 government primary schools -- half in the morning session and the other half in the evening session.

On Tuesday the first show of the day will be staged at Xavier's Lower School, with the final show at St. Anne's School which students from Sandilands Primary will also attend, as it's only a five-minute drive from their school. Tickets for primary and high school showings are $13; preschool tickets are $12 and includes a packed lunch.

Switching things up from previous years, Wallace opted to reduce the number of public shows in favor of taking the performance to the schools, which he said they've found works better for them.

"If we leave it up to the parents to bring their children to see the show, the children won't see the circus. The parents are so happy and relieved to give their children $13 to go and see the circus and let the teachers take them. And doing it in the schools eliminates the busing element," he said.

In staging this year's circus, Soft Touch Production partnered with the Primary Principals Association and for every ticket sold, $4 from each ticket sold will be split between the Primary Principals Association and the school.
