ROWSOME WINS $2K PLO HI/LO 8-HANDED TURBO
Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome won yesterday’s PCA 2016 $2k PLO Hi/Lo 8-Handed Turbo event for $22,420, the best live cash of her career. Yesterday’s victory was not the Canadian’s first PCA win though – she took down the $1k PLO event in 2012 for $10,900 and a $1k Triple Stud/Razz/Stud/Stud 8 tourney in 2013 for $10,920. Rowsome, who hails from Edmonton in Alberta, has been grinding poker online for many years, and playing for fun for even longer. She was first introduced to poker by her father, playing five card draw. Rowsome combines poker with her job as an Occupational Therapist. She qualified for the World Series of Poker* Main Event for three consecutive years on PokerStars in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and had top-100 cashes in WSOP Omaha events in the next three years, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Online tournaments at PokerStars have also proved profitable and she’s final tabled the Women’s Sunday event three times, with strong finishes in 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots. Her User ID ‘talonchick’ is in honor of her first car, a 1992 Eagle Talon. There were 34 players in yesterday’s event with six paid from the $65,960 prize pool.

LUCA WINS $5k NL WIN THE BUTTON HYPER TURBO
Argentina’s Ivan Luca continued his spectacular run good last night after taking down the late night $5k NL Win the Button Hyper Turbo for $22,670. His victory comes only a few days after he finished third in the $50k One Day High Roller for nearly $500k. It was also his third cash of this years’s PCA festival – he was also third in the $5k NL Hyper Turbo "$50,000 Survivor" event for $40,422. Fair took $12,850 for the win plus his second trophy of the festival; he won the $300 PLO event three days ago for $5,880. Soshnikov’s runner-up finish brought the Russian within a hair’s breadth of snagging his third trophy. He has already won two No Limit events at PCA 2016 for a combined haul of $46,920. There were 39 players creating a $37,830 prize pool with six paid.

DEAN LEADING $1K NL TOURNEY
American Thomas Dean is leading the last seven players in the $1k NL event that started yesterday. Dean has already one tournament here at the PCA, a $120 Flipout tourney for $1,140. A far bigger prize awaits the winner of this event however. TEAM JAFFEE WINS THE BASKETBALL SHOOTOUT TOURNAMENT

There were eight four-a-side teams in the event and the line-up featuring Jared Jaffee, David Robinson, Kunal Patel and Wade Townsend emerged victorious. Each member of the winning team earned entry into a $1k PCA side event as their prize. "Team Jaffee" beat a squad comprising Tyler Hurman, Tyler Patterson, Evan Panesis and Jeff Burns in the finals. Among the others who entered were 2013 WSOP Main Event champ Ryan Riess, Nick Maimone and Elliot Smith.
