PCA 2016: Main event update/ Side event review #4

DAY 2 OF THE PCA 2016 MAIN EVENT
Day 2 of the PCA Main Event is under way with coverage both on the PokerStars blog and on EPTLive (see below). EPT Vilamoura champion Toby Lewis, who led Day 1a, is still in the lead with 188,000, followed by Day 1b chip leader Jonathan Jaffe on 164,000 (the latter will be on the first TV table of the day). Of the 12 Team PokerStars players still in contention, Team Online's Marc-Andre Ladouceur is doing the best with 72,000. The others include Fatima Moreira de Melo, Jaime Staples, Jason Mercier, Jake Cody, Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein. Today's players also include actress Sasha Barresse, who played Tracy Billings in all The Hangover trilogy. The 34-year-old plays poker as much as she can, and aims to turn pro. She has made Day 2 with 37,000.

At least 576 players will be competing on Day 2 and late registration is still open so that number could easily increase.

EPTLIVE
PCA Main Event coverage is on now. The first TV table of the day features Thomas Muehloecker, Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker, Nick Schulman and Day 1b chip leader Jonathan Jaffe. SUNDAY ACTION AT THE PCA
As well as Day 2 of the PCA Main Event with , Sunday’s action includes both a $2k NL and $2k NL Turbo event, a $1k PLO, a $1k NL tourney, a $300 H.O.S.E event, a $5k PLO, three more $120 Flipouts and a $2k NL Hyper Turbo "Win the Button" to end the day.

Today's “Breakfast with the Pros” session was titled 'More than just a game' and hosted by Team PokerStars Pro ElkY and PokerStars Mind Sports Ambassador Jennifer Shahade. Today is also the final day of the HU4ROLLZ competition tomorrow with players taking on Team PokerStars members in free-to-enter Heads-Up Challenges running 2-7pm in the Player Lounge.

MARGERESON WINS $5k NL TURBO "$2,500 BOUNTIES"
Aside from Steve O’Dwyer’s historic win in the $50k One Day High Roller, yesterday’s biggest winner was Scott Margereson who took down the $5,300 NL Turbo "$2,500 Bounties" event for € 39,230. There were 53 entries with seven paid from the $124,550 prize pool.

FLIPOUT UPDATES
There were another three $120 Flipout events yesterday with a total of 80 players competing overall. The biggest winner was Christian Campan from Romania who won the “Winner Takes All” for $2,000.

PCA 2016 INVITATIONAL CHARITY TOURNAMENT
Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker won yesterday’s PCA 2016 Invitational Charity tourney. The 2003 world champion will be donating his $10,000 winnings to the Autism Society of Ohio. Spanish golf legend Sergio Garcia finished second and is donating his $5,000 share of the prize pool to “The First Tee” which helps youngsters build positive development through the game of golf while third-placed Maria Ho is donating $2,500 to the Kidney Cancer Association. The event was hosted by EPT presenter Joe Stapleton. Football legend Ronaldo and Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo were the other two players who took part.

MEDIA INFO
All media attending the PCA are banned from any kind of gaming anywhere in the Bahamas for the duration of the event. This includes off-property casinos, online or in your hotel room.

PCA 2016
A record 104 tourneys are taking place at Atlantis during the 2016 PCA festival. Aside from the $100k Super High Roller, $2,200 LAPT Bahamas Main Event and PCA 2016 Main Event, there is also a $50k One-Day High Roller Single Re-Entry on January 9. The three-day $25k High Roller starts Jan 12 and the $600 Ladies Event on Jan 14. Check out the PCA 2016 promo video here.

ATARI-SPONSORED PLAYER LOUNGE
The Atari-sponsored PCA Player Lounge is open daily from midday to midnight, January 6-14. From 2-10pm, players can compete for an Atari 2600 Flashback console in classic games such as Centipede®, Asteroids® and Missile Command®.

3 v 3 BASKETBALL WITH MERCIER
Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier will host the first PCA 3 v 3 Shootout competition at 9am tomorrow and Tuesday. Up to 48 players can compete; each member of the top three-person team will win a $1k side event tournament ticket.

PCA PLAYER PARTY
The PCA 2016 Player Party is from 8pm - 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 13 in the Grand Ballroom - with food, entertainment and free bar. Party tickets will also get you free entry in to Aura nightclub afterwards (please note, drinks in Aura are not free).
