PCA: 520+ players already for day 1b; $50K one-day high roller under way

It's another action-packed day at the PCA today with the $5,300 Main Event Day 1b in progress and the one-day $50k also under way (see below for info on this event).

In the PCA Main Event, there are already 600+ players for the Day 1b field. Team PokerStars Pro is represented by Eugene Katchalov, Barry Greenstein, Leo Fernandez, Victor Ramdin and Andre Akkari. The latter was earlier competing in the LAPT Main Event and joined Day 1b right after his elimination in tenth place (for $18,900). PokerStars MindSports Ambassador Jennifer Shahade is also playing along with three Team PokerStars Pro Online members - George Lind, Marc-Andre Ladouceur and Jaime Staples.

Today's entrants also include former PCA champions John Dibella, Harrison Gimbel and title defender Kevin Schulz, who beat a 816-strong field last year to scoop $1,491,580 along with the trophy.

Other EPT champions competing today are Kevin MacPhee (EPT6 Berlin), Antonio Buonanno (EPT10 Grand Final), Jean Montury (EPT11 Malta), Remi Castaignon (EPT9 Deauville), Anton Wigg (EPT6 Copenhagen), Martin Finger (EPT8 Prague) and Christophe Benzimra (EPT6 Warsaw).

Today's field also features other bunch of poker heavyweights - Ami Barer, Anthony Zinno, EPT12 Prague runner-up Gleb Tremzin, EPT11 Grand Final €25k High Roller winner, Charlie Carrel, Chris Hunichen, PCA runner-up Chris Oliver, Jason Wheeler, Pablo Gordillo, Calvin Anderson, WSOP World Champions Joe Cada & Ryan Riess, Tony Gregg and PCA 2010 runner-up Tyler Reiman.

The PCA has been part of the European Poker Tour since 2008 with Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier being the first player to lift the EPT trophy here in the Bahamas. Last season, Kevin Schulz beat a 816-strong field to take the title along with the $1,491,580 first prize.

PCA $50K HIGH ROLLER UNDER WAY WITH 50+ PLAYERS
Along with the PCA Main Event and LAPT Main Event, there's also the single-day $50k High Roller on the schedule today and more than 50 players have already joined the fray. American pro Bryn Kenney, who won the PCA $100k Super High Roller yesterday, couldn't miss out on more high roller action and is taking part, along with his Super High Roller heads-up opponent Joe McKeehen. Team PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier and Liv Boeree are also battling in the field along with notables such as 2014 WCOOP World Champion Fedor Holz, PCA Super High Roller champions Steve O'Dwyer (2014) and Scott Seiver (2013), 2014 PCA runner-up Mike McDonald, EPT10 Player of the Year Ole Schemion, Olivier Busquet, Isaac Haxton and many others.

TAILGATE NFL PLAYOFFS PARTY
Team PokerStars Pro & 2003 World Champion Chris Moneymaker is hosting the second PCA tailgate party for NFL fans in the Player Lounge from 7.15pm tonight. All players are welcome to join in the fun with food, football, music, beer pong and free-to-enter squares competition.

All media attending the PCA are prohibited from any kind of gaming anywhere in the Bahamas for the duration of the event. This includes off-property casinos, online or in your hotel room. PCA 2016
A record 104 tourneys are taking place at Atlantis during the 2016 PCA festival. Aside from the Super High Roller, second LAPT Bahamas Main Event (unlimited re-entries, starts January 7, now with reduced $2,200 buy-in) and PCA 2016 Main Event, there is also a $50k One-Day High Roller Single Re-Entry on January 9.
