Toby Lewis is leading the $5,300 PCA 2016 Main Event at the end of Day 1a. The 26-year-old Englishman has made his way to the group of EPT champions back in season 7, when he took down the Main Event in Vilamoura for €467,836 - his best result among $2.7 million collected in live tournament cashes. He's been regular on the EPT scene for years, cashing in nine Main Events so far. He cashed once at the PCA before, finishing 34th back in 2011.

Ranked #20 in the England all-time money list, Lewis is also successful online. He's known as "810ofclubs" on PokerStars, where he earned both TCOOP and WCOOP titles. Two years back, Lewis fell shy of completing his COOP hattrick; he was a runner-up in a SCOOP event. Overall, he has over $780k in profit on PokerStars and also added a Full Tilt FTOPS title worth $253k.

Lewis bagged 188,000 to finish Day 1a with a solid distance ahead of the rest of the remaining field. There were 210 players competing on Day 1a and 131 survived for Day 2.

American oil industry businesswoman Kathy Lehne, who became the second female to ever cash in the PCA Super High Roller last night, continues running great here at the PCA as she built her stack up to 130,100 on Day 1a. Other notable players with big stacks include Andrey Zaichenko (119,500), Anton Astapau (104,100), Taylor Paur (100,000) and Olivier Busquet (90,600).

Representing the red spade, Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker (75,900), top professional golfer and PokerStars sponsored player Sergio Garcia (63,900) and Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo (29,000) will all come back for Day 2. Unfortunately, Team PokerStars SportStar Ronaldo won't repeat his last year's deep run (26th) as the Brazilian football legend was one of the first casualties of Day 1a.

The PCA has been part of the European Poker Tour since 2008 with Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier being the first player to lift the EPT trophy here in the Bahamas. Last season, Kevin Schulz beat a 816-strong field to take the title along with the $1,491,580 first prize.
