The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture in conjunction with the National Junkanoo Committee launched the 2015-2016 Junkanoo Season with a press conference Thursday, November 5th, at the National Art Gallery.

A calendar of dates for the Junkanoo parades and events associated with Junkanoo, such as the Junkanoo Legends Awards set for December 15th, Junior Junkanoo set for December 12, and Junior Junkanoo on various Family Islands was handed out.

A new initiative, a poster competition, was also introduced. This applies to all school-aged children said Cultural Affairs Officer Ellery Deveaux. Students can enter starting Monday, November 9th: details will be placed in news papers and online.
