A woman's desire is a money magnet

Desire and passion sometimes get a bad rap. So maybe you stopped to read this article because you're curious about desire and money living in the same sentence, in the business section of the newspaper. That may be because of conditioning, when we hear the word desire with money, we think of some degraded human craving that is detrimental to morality and compromises our communities. But I would like to offer a purer perspective on the power of a woman's desire.

The dream building, glass ceiling breaking, full expression of unique beauty and glory that is contained within her. It's powerful, and when it is expressed through heart-centered entrepreneurship, we can change the world.

The Oxford Dictionary says desire is a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen. That "strong feeling" is an important piece because it's really the driver. The creative positive force required to access new ideas and solutions.

It's the fuel to bringing your goals and plans to life. It creates the opportunity to earn, create and inspire. It connects you to your intuition, your internal guidance that provides the insight on how to bring resources, like money, into your space.

Common desires mistakes

As women we juggle the responsibilities and priorities of husband, children, boss, parents, friends. If our husband's priority is to excel in corporate, or the church, we are there with him, making sure everything lines up to accomplish that. We do the same thing for our children.

When parents need assistance, we fill the gap for the precious pearls that raised us when we could not do for ourselves. It's a beautiful thing. But sometimes we ignore our own deep longing to create something else.

To express what is tugging at us that perhaps you have never shared with anyone. Not in a powerful way where its clear how important it is to you. That is where I want you to go today. To that silent desire that you have been relegating it to a "better time", like when the kids are grown, or things settle down a bit more in your life.

I challenge you to let that desire rise to the surface. Take some time right now and let it speak to you. Let it tell you what it wants from you. Now play in it, enjoy it, and imagine what could be done with it. Feel the joy it brings you as you think about it!

I want to encourage the women reading this today to honor yourself and what has been placed in your heart to create. Life is calling you to express something that only you have the experience, skill, tools and desire to achieve. Life is asking you to do this thing for our collective growth our human expansion. That's the calling.

But I don't have the money

Yes you do. With the call, come the resources. Remember, life is naturally abundant, expansive and regenerating. You may not be able to see it, but don't make the mistake of measuring what you can accomplish by how much money you see in the bank.

When you line up your thinking and your expectation to reflect what you want, the money will show up. You will see exactly how to get it!

The dream thief
Your desire is the pull of creation, when you listen to it wonderful things happen. So you have to follow your heart. In that positive space of joy, pleasure and desire creation lives.

The problem is you think you have to be realistic. Don't be realistic it's a dream thief! Realism is what we see in the environment, and what we see is the result of past thinking. The solution comes from fresh thinking, fresh ideas, following new passions and desires that make the current problem obsolete.

Changing reality is simply a matter of better ideas, and ladies you'll need desire for that. For example, let's say your desire is to give yourself (or child) an international university experience. Live into that and watch for the opportunities you will attract to yourself. There are door-opening, life changing opportunities for you on the other side of that desire that aren't available here in town.

So no, you absolutely don't have to settle for a local college. If you want the international experience, you can have that! As a matter of fact, I can show you how right now.

There is an awesome Facebook group called "Say Yes to Scholarships", ran by Bahamian, powerhouse, single mom Charlotte Knowles-Thompson. In it she shares a long list of scholarship opportunities. Some are based on need others on merit. And she's great at keeping you aware of the deadline and lovingly kicking your butt to get it done! If college tuition is a challenge, go search for the group on Facebook right now and make it happen. See what I mean, there is ALWAYS a way, you just have to stay positive and be willing to do the work.

It's the same if your desire is to create or expand your business. You see limitation is a thinking habit. It's a cubicle, a box you can spend your life stuck in, if you do not manage your thoughts. You'll keep hitting the corners of that box every time you try to make progress and believe that what you want is possible for someone else, but not you.

Now its up to you! You can live within your "allotted" spot, or you can live a life without the illusion of limitation, knowing the money is available to accomplish your desires. That's the spirit of entrepreneurship, and the power of desire. It's living with the lid off!
