The Bahamas Union of Teachers is saddened by the recent destruction caused by Hurricane Joaquin. Our members are our number one priority and we will make every effort to assist in providing necessary support in returning their lives to a state of normalcy. To this end, the Executive Committee has partnered with the Ministry of Education to complete proper assessments, interviews and counseling if necessary, of members affected by the storm.

Our intent is to identify specific needs caused by the storm and assist in having them satisfied. Persons wishing to assist will be notified how and when. Until then, the Union encourages all persons to continue to donate through their local charities.
