A man accused of having body armor was acquitted Tuesday after a judge accepted no case submissions.

Dino Bethel, who is also known as Deon Bethel, was tried on three counts of possession of body armor.

According to the prosecution, in 2012 officers executed a search warrant on a triplex owned by Bethel in Fox Hill.

The officers uncovered a camouflage bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet and a ballistic face mask in an unoccupied unit.

During an interview with police, Bethel said that the unit was previously occupied by a Jamaican tenant.

He said that he did not inspect the ceiling of the unit after the tenant vacated the premises.

At the close of the prosecution's case, Bethel's attorney Murrio Ducille argued that the prosecution had failed to make out a prima facie case against Bethel.

Senior Justice Stephen Isaacs accepted the submission and directed the jury to acquit him. Desiree Ferguson and Eucal Bonaby prosecuted.
