Now as we all know, the whole process of becoming successful in life commences with the setting of goals for as my mentor Earl Nightingale put it "Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal"...... Yes it is! So we start the process with some deep thinking, some introspection as we ponder exactly where we presently are in all areas of our life, and then reflect on where we'd like to be in the future. As we participate in this extremely important exercise, ideas will start to flood our consciousness, burst into our mind as it becomes literally flooded with wonderful, exciting dreams of what we wish to accomplish in the future.
One by one we write all of these goals down on a pad of paper. Having taken this first important step on the road to success, we then take the next step which is to establish detailed plans of how exactly we intend to make each of our goals a reality in our life.
OK D. Paul, I'm with you so far as I have A. written down my goals in great detail, and B. I've drawn up detailed plans as to how I actually intend to achieve each of my goals. But what's next? What's the next step in the process?
Well, I touched briefly on this in the last article and of course it's explained in today's title. You 'Paint A 'Mental Picture''. That's right, you start to use your imagination to very clearly see yourself exactly where you want to be, doing what you wish to do very successfully. As you 'Paint A 'Mental Picture'' and clearly see yourself achieving what you wish to achieve in your 'Mind's Eye', an inner excitement and energy will grip you as you move very determinedly and quite rapidly toward the desired target, which is of course Success City.
OK I think I've got it D. Paul #1. I set up my goals #2.I establish plans to achieve these goals, and #3. I use my imagination to assist me in seeing myself where I want to be in life. So that's it, that's all I need to do and then just sit back and allow it to happen? Hell No! Now you've got to do the work, you've got to daily do what needs to be done in order to make your dreams a reality in your life.
Nobody ever achieves great things in life by just sitting on their 'You Know What' every day. You simply MUST religiously do the hard work each and every day if you wish to finally reach Success City.
