A Supreme Court jury on Wednesday unanimously cleared a 27-year-old man of having sex with a minor.
Prosecutors alleged that Luckenson Lafrance had sexual relations with an 11-year-old girl on three occasions in July and August 2013.
Lafrance was on $15,000 bail until his acquittal.
According to the alleged victim, the sexual contact occurred in Lafrance's bedroom while the girl visited his home in a Haitian community off Carmichael Road.
For his part, Lafrance denied that he had an inappropriate relationship with the girl.
The defense alleged that the girl's family harbored animosity towards Lafrance because his father gave him a job that was previously held by the girl's stepfather.
The complaint was made months after Lafrance arrived in the community after relocating from Haiti.
There was no independent witness to confirm the girl's story.
Anishka Hanchell prosecuted and Sidney Dorsett represented Lafrance.
