Nassau Yacht Club: New Flag Officers Elected

The Nassau Yacht Club welcomes its new Flag Officers, duly elected at the Annual General

Meeting held on Monday November 29th, 2010.

Swiss national and Bahamian resident, Thierry S. Huguenin is the newly elected Commodore

of the Nassau Yacht Club. Thierry joined the Club in 2004. He then served as Rear

Commodore, Honorary Floor Member and for the past two years as Vice Commodore. Thierry

is a sailor since he was eight years old. His dedication to the sport of sailing and particularly

junior sailing is well recognized. Thierry is a fervent supporter of membership clubs, he runs

his own businesses in general aviation and public relation and communications.

Thierryʼs right hand man and new Vice Commodore of the Club is James “Jimmy” Thompson.

Jimmy has been a member for about ten years. He loves all aspects of boating especially

fishing. When the weather conditions are not ideal, he gladly turns to gardening. He is a family

man and has been working in the car industry in New Providence for over twenty years.

Harriet Russell, a great supporter of Club events, is the new Honorary Secretary. Harriet has

been member for thirty years and she enjoys boating and fishing.

James Owen remains the Clubʼs Honorary Treasurer. James joined the management team a

year ago and has been a Clubʼs member for fifteen years. He is also an active member of the

Rotary Club of New Providence. James owns and manages a local financial consulting

company.

JoAnne Cash and Chris Eldon have been members for many years. They both were elected

Honorary Floor Members last year and are remaining on the management team as well.

JoAnne likes to meet people and get together with fellow members. She recently retired from

Bacardi and runs her own property management business. Chris is an avid boater and loves

fishing, he is the Managing Director of a hurricane shutters and security company.
