Venezuelan plane crash lands at LPIA

A plane traveling with four passengers from Venezuela crash landed at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) on Thursday afternoon, police reported.The plane reportedly left Venezuela around 1 p.m. and began experiencing hydraulic problems 300 miles north of Acklins. The pilot requested emergency assistance and began heading to New Providence, according to police.An emergency mode was activated at LPIA to accommodate the plane, which skidded off the runway as it attempted to land.The passengers and pilot were unharmed, police said.

The plane sustained some damage, police reported.
