Gun traffickers get five years in prison

Two men convicted of smuggling 16 firearms and 861 rounds of ammunition were yesterday sentenced to the maximum of five years' imprisonment.
Trevis Demeritte, 38, and Patrick Rolle, 51, committed the offenses prior to a November 2011 amendment to the Penal Code that set a mandatory sentencing range of four to seven years for firearm and ammunition possession.

Two convicted of firearms smuggling

A magistrate has found two men guilty of smuggling 16 guns and 861 rounds of ammunition from Florida.
Police discovered the items when the contraband arrived at Potter's Cay Dock on August 19, 2011 from Cat Cay on board the MV Sherice M, which makes stops at Bimini, Cat Cay and New Providence.
