Man, 21, charged in banker's murder

Police believe they have found the man who murdered banker Stephen Sherman.
Yesterday, 21-year-old Cordero Bethel appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez charged with Sherman's February 17 shooting death.
Sherman, an assistant manager at the Royal Bank of Canada in Palmdale, was shot in the head when he pulled up to his home at Yamacraw Shores.

Police call for backup at Central Station

Police were forced to call for backup when an alleged drug dealer, who demanded to see his girlfriend, refused to leave the Central Police Station early Saturday morning, The Nassau Guardian has confirmed.

Police clash with prison guards over inmate

Prison officials refused to an accept a female inmate Wednesday evening because her remand warrant wasn't current, The Nassau Guardian has learned.

Officers from the Central Police Station took the woman to the prison for further remand, but guards at the prison noticed that the warrant authorizing her detention expired on October 27.
