Arrests made in brothel raid

Police have arrested two Bahamian men and four Jamaican women at the former Mayfair Hotel, following Tribune reports of prostitution at the West Bay Street establishment.

Speaking with the officer in charge of the Central Police station, Chief Superintendent Emerick Seymour, the police expect to bring charges against at least one man and a woman early next week.

Police injured in violent clash outside court

SEVEN people were arrested after friends and family of a homicide victim clashed with police yesterday.

A senior police officer was assaulted during the disturbance, which occurred near the juncture of East Street and Bay Street.

Police investigators were at the Central Police Station yesterday to question officers about the escape of a prisoner from Bank Lane.
