BEC restores power to more than 2,000 customers

Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham said last night that since he announced the beginning of the third Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) reconnection program on February 9, BEC restored power to 2,323 disconnected households.

Customs comptroller on pre-retirement leave

Customs Comptroller Glen Gomez will start pre-retirement leave effective today.
Gomez's leave comes as three Customs officers - Superintendents Tony Scriven, Alfred Stubbs and Geannine Moss - were promoted to the rank of assistant comptroller.
Meanwhile 42 other employees have been transferred to other sections within the departme, according to an internal memo sent to all staff  on Tuesday.
