A special solemn service of prayer was held in honour of Mr. Alexis Degournay Loynaz, the Cuban teacher that died in a ghastly vehicle accident in Andros, Bahamas last week. Policeman arraigned on bribery charge

A police officer claimed yesterday that his colleagues abused him while investigating him for bribery.

Constable Maurice Curry, 36, of Thompson Close, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez on a charge of soliciting a bribe from Alphie Hanna between January 22 and January 26, 2009. Prosecutors allege that Curry received that bribe from Hanna on January 26, 2009.

Police monitoring challenge to wiretap laws

A successful challenge to the country's wiretapping laws could change the way police conduct investigations, according to a senior police officer.

Police question 18-year-old man about stabbing in Abaco

POLICE are questioning an 18-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of an Abaco resident.

The male victim, whose identity has not been released by police, was stabbed around 4.45pm on Monday at Curry Lane in Murphy Town, Abaco.
