RITA 2023 Sets Sail with Resounding Success & Support from Mount Gay Rum and Sands Beer
The art of sailing took centre stage as the highly anticipated Regattas in The Abacos (RITA 2023) officially set sail on Sunday the 25th. The return of the annual summer regatta has attracted various racing sailing boats to compete in 5 races being staged throughout the Abacos, after a nearly three-year hiatus following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.

Rebirth of "Regattas In The Abaco" (RiTA): A Spectacular Success
Befitting the recent announcement that Sailing is now the national sport of the Bahamas, The Abacos witnessed an outstanding success in the first year of the rebirth of the summer sailing regatta. From June 25th to July 1st, between Elbow Cay and Green Turtle Cay, participants were treated to a series of five thrilling sailing races.

Govt to extend economic zones for GB, Abaco and now southern islands
In addition to extending the special economic recovery zone (SERZ) relief order for Grand Bahama and Abaco – which are still rebuilding after Hurricane Dorian – the government is also expanding the special economic zones to include most of the southern islands.
