St. Matthew's Anglican Church youth members engage in spiritual retreat in Inagua, engage in educational pursuits and visit sick and shut-ins

The youthful members of St. Matthew's traveled to Matthew Town, Inagua, for a spiritual retreat, but also took time out from their fun, frolic and fellowship to help beautify the St. Philip Church and Parish Hall by picking up trash; and to bring a spot of cheer to senior citizens and shut-in members on the island by visiting them and serenading them and presenting them with gift bags.

30M hangar for Inagua

A new $30 million Operation Bahamas, Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) hangar is being constructed at Inagua, officials from the United States and The Bahamas revealed yesterday.

The old hangar was destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008.

Tropical Storm Emily Could Threaten Bahamas

TROPICAL STORM EMILY, which formed at 7.30 last night, could threaten the Bahamas if the system continues on its current projected path.

According to the National Hurricane Center, at 5am Tuesday there was little change in organisation in Tropical Storm Emily. An Airforce hurricane hunter aircraft was scheduled to investigate at noon to give a better indication of the system's strength.
