Baha Mar claims process outlined

The committee responsible for overseeing the payout of claims to Baha Mar's employees and creditors said it will contact the resort's former employees early this month to begin the process of paying them, "in substantial part or in full", what they're owed since being made redundant last year, according to a notice issued by the committee yesterday.

On August 22, 2016, the Supreme Court approved the plan to remobilize the stalled Baha Mar resort and one week later on Sunday, 28th August 2016, the government announced a committee to settle severance payments owed to displaced Baha Mar workers and to process claims by unsecured Bahamian creditors.
