National Drug Plan will help 35,000

The National Prescription Drug Plan will provide free medications for 11 chronic, non-communicable diseases to 35,000 Bahamians in its initial stage, Tami Francis, Drug Plan Project Manager said Tuesday.

Mrs Francis said eight million dollars has been ?set aside? by officials of the National Insurance Board for Phase I of The Plan.

Hope Town goes 'No-plastic in November'

AN ISLAND community in Abaco is the first in the country to ban plastic bags at all major grocery stores as part of a month-long campaign.

Shopkeepers in Hope Town, Elbow Cay, have partnered with the local non-profit organisation Friends of the Environment by promising to use 'No-plastic in No-vember'.
