Description
Nassau was established as a diocese on July 5, 1960. On June 22, 1999, the diocese was again elevated. This Ecclesiastical Province consisted of the Diocese of Nassau, the Diocese of Hamilton-in-Bermuda and the Mission of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Nassau was named the Metropolitan See and thus elevated to the dignity of Archdiocese. The Archdiocese has a population 52,279.
The Archdiocese of Nassau is currently served by 18 priests, 19 deacons and 10 religious sisters. There are 4 high schools, 6 elementary schools and 1 special needs school.
