Guyanese who concealed cocaine in wig pleads guilty

A Guyanese woman who smuggled almost three pounds of cocaine into The Bahamas has been jailed for 28 months.
The drugs were concealed in Linda Reynolds' wig.
Reynolds was arrested on May 23 after arriving in New Providence on a Caribbean Airlines flight from Suriname.

Drug mule sentenced for cocaine in wig

A Guyanese woman who smuggled cocaine from Suriname to The Bahamas in her wig said she committed the crime to take care of her four-year-old daughter.

Cross-dresser robs bank

A cross-dresser toting a gun held up Fidelity Bank’s Robin Hood branch on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway yesterday and kidnapped the bank’s manager after he took what is reported to be a substantial amount of money, police said.
The robbery, which was executed in under seven minutes, left employees traumatized and prompted bank officials to shut down the branch for the day.
