Police crack down on cash for gold businesses
At least six pawnbrokers have been arrested for allegedly receiving stolen goods from customers, according to Superintendent Philip Don Wilson, officer in charge of the South Central Division.
Wilson said police raided those businesses and seized just under $30,000 worth of gold and silver jewelry during a three-hour special operation last Thursday.

The U.S. State Department's 2012 "Crime and Safety Report" has labeled New Providence island's (including Nassau) criminal threat level as "critical" with Grand Bahama's island's (including Freeport) level as "high."
