From December 1st through December 14, Ricardo Miller Ministries will be hosting a Kids Christmas Toy Drive. We are accepting unwrapped gifts for boys and girls ages 0-12. Then on Saturday the 15th, our ministry will be giving 250 gifts and serving free food to children in the Soldier Road area at Sunshine Auto in the Bahamas. Artist Talk by Robert Longo Hosted by The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas

The NAGB is thrilled to present an artist’s talk and Q+A with U.S. artist Robert Longo. Known for his stunning photo-realistic black and white drawings—usually drawn from media and news sources—Longo’s work is both seductive and deceptive.
Appearing as extraordinarily beautiful drawings, they are in fact biting critiques of the anaesthetizing and seductive effects of capitalism, mediatized wars, and the cult of history in the US. From the Kent State University Massacre in 1970, through Reaganomics and the Gulf War in the 90’s, 9/11 and the Iraq War in the new millennium, and recent events such as the Ferguson Riots, the Charlie Hebdo massacre, or Occupy Wall Street movement, Longo has continued to explore the medium of charcoal drawing, paying homage to the great masters of art history, while depicting our times with brutal honesty.
The talk will be held on Monday, December 10th, starting at 9:30 am and is free and open to the public with a special invitation to practising artists, journalists and students. Come to hear this renowned artist delve into his practice and worldview.
