The public is invited to attend the opening of an exhibition by Bahamian artist and filmmaker Maria Govan at Popopstudios in Chippingham on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 starting at 6pm.

In February 2013, the D'Aguilar Art Foundation gave a grant to Govan to take a look at Trinidad's Carnival. There, she connected with veteran Trinidadian photographer, Abigail Hadeed, who has been documenting Traditional Carnival for many decades. With her access, Govan was able to capture some incredible images and video -- aspects of Carnival that we often don't see.

The show will be a combination of photos, video and paintings which will hopefully leave viewers with a memorable taste of Trinidad's Traditional Carnival.
