Goombay Summer Festival: The Berry Islands

Activities will include: music by a DJ, Live band, Rake N Scrape Band, Junkanoo, plus fire and limbo dancers. The festival will feature all aspects of Bahamian culture, from music to dance, food, arts, and poetry, plus Bahamian past-time competitions.

The event is organized by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and The Berry Islands Tourism Advisory Board.

Goombay Summer Fest goes live in GB on Thursday

Goombay Summer Festival in Grand Bahama will re-launch on Thursday, July 7, at Taino Beach: residents and visitors are invited to join in the celebration.

During a press conference at the Goombay Summer Festival site on Taino Beach, Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey, said she was pleased to announce the official return of Goombay, the signature cultural event for the island.

New Year, New Audience As Goombay Kids Wins Asian Film Award And Makes Mark At Other Festivals: Junkanoo episode a hit at KIDS FIRST! Film Festival

An Asian film festival has awarded the 2022 Best Television Award to Bahamas-produced Goombay Kids. The show is making rounds in festivals from Canada to England to Russia and an American film festival reviewer ranked the origin of Junkanoo episode five out of five for highlighting culture. The honors are a first for a Bahamas television production.
