VAT Department: Some gas stations double-taxing
The VAT Department of the Ministry of Finance has disclosed that some gas stations are in effect double-taxing Bahamians by charging VAT (value-added tax) in addition to the gas price at the pump when - as the VAT Department insists -that price already includes VAT.
