St. Matthew's Anglican Church youth members engage in spiritual retreat in Inagua, engage in educational pursuits and visit sick and shut-ins

The youthful members of St. Matthew's traveled to Matthew Town, Inagua, for a spiritual retreat, but also took time out from their fun, frolic and fellowship to help beautify the St. Philip Church and Parish Hall by picking up trash; and to bring a spot of cheer to senior citizens and shut-in members on the island by visiting them and serenading them and presenting them with gift bags.

Cocaine seized in Inagua after police search boat

DRUG Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers have made another large drugs bust, this time in Inagua, police have reported. It is the second large seizure of cocaine in a 24-hour period in the Bahamas.

Investigation after classrooms destroyed in fire

POLICE are currently investigating a fire that destroyed a block of classrooms at the All Age Inagua School.

According to police reports the fire started around 9:30pm on Friday and was contained to two class rooms and a bathroom.

With the assistance of local residents, the police and the Bahamas Defence Force were able to bring the fire under control.
