Police name man shot dead

THE police have identified the man shot killed on Thursday night as 30-year-old Kyle Smith of Sunshine Park.

It is reported that he was sitting on the steps of the 'Get With It' fabric store on Sunrise Road along with a group of people shortly after 9pm, when a man wearing dark clothes got out of a white Honda armed with a high powered weapon.

Home Fabrics denies Androsia sale claims

The Androsia fabric company is claiming the sale of a batik material with a "Bahamian" design by a well-known fabric store has "dramatically affected" their operations, with staff hours at its Andros factory allegedly reduced as a result.

Jeff Birch, president of Androsia, said the move by popular fabric retailer, Home Fabrics, has limited Androsia's ability to grow in recent years.
