Boat Captain Sentenced To Four Years In 6m Cocaine Seizure

A Haitian boat captain yesterday received the mandatory minimum sentence of four years for smuggling a multi-million-dollar cargo of cocaine. Ifody Pierre, 51, of Port-au-Prince, pleaded guilty to charges of drug importation and drug possession with intent to supply and conspiring to commit the offenses at his arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Carolita Bethell.
