Description

The Bahamas Lighthouse Museum is a unique historical and educational museum, dedicated to the preservation of the 10 lighthouses located within The Islands of The Bahamas. Of those 10, only three are not automated or have never stopped working. They are still fully operational, in much the same way since they were built, with manned, hand-wound and kerosene-burning lanterns.

In addition, our Gift Shop features signed and dated photographs of Lighthouses in The Bahamas, in addition to a large variety of lighthouse memorabilia and nautical gifts for adults and children: lighthouse art, crystal and brass lighthouses, Bahamian and other jewelry, handcrafted wood carvings, household items, etc.

After you visit with us, you will leave better informed and with a greater appreciation for those beacons of light that have protected ships navigating our waters for so many years. We also invite you to join the "Lighthouse Lover's Preservation Club of The Bahamas" and take a tour to "Become a Lighthouse Keeper" at San Salvador and Great Inagua.
