Dear Editor,

It's time we stop making excuses for not completely legalizing gambling.
Do you realize that any Bahamian can travel to any other country in the world and walk into their casinos and gamble, play the slot machines, blackjack, and any other game that is available to them, yet when we come home we are forbidden to do so? How ridiculous is that?

FNM leader says he will vote 'yes' to gambling

Free National Movement (FNM) Leader Dr. Hubert Minnis indicated yesterday that he will vote in favor of legalizing gambling if the government holds a referendum on the issue.

Jamaican collects $240m lottery win in disguise

MANCHESTER, Jamaica - A Manchester farmer walked into Supreme Ventures Limited's (SVL) Kingston offices without notice yesterday and collected the record $240 million lotto jackpot that had been sitting idle for 49 days.

"We were surprised," saidSonia Davidson, SVL's senior vice-president for corporate communications.

After the 15 per cent tax, the farmer walked out with a cool $204 million.
