Bar Assoc. wants amendments to Legal Profession Act

President of the Bar Association Ruth Bowe-Darville yesterday urged the government to amend the Legal Profession Act and Regulations to strengthen the association’s ability to discipline lawyers of ill repute.
According to Bowe-Darville, there are 977 active lawyers on the roll with 112 in active government service, 33 in banking and 832 in private practice.

Bar assoc. condemns PMs' 'attacks' on judges
