Walker's Cay purchase approved by Bahamas Investment Authority

ATLANTA

- AlphaCRE announced today the endorsement by the Bahamas Investment
Authority (BIA) for the purchase and redevelopment of Walker's Cay, the 69-acre
island in the Bahamas' Abacos chain.

Walker's Cay dream gets green light

A multi-million dollar bid to revive the once-famed Walker's Cay fishing and diving resort, which would create "a minimum" of 200 jobs for Bahamians, has been approved by the Bahamas Investment Authority.

The Nassau Guardian revealed back in June that a bid had been submitted to bring back to life the resort which was battered into closure by hurricanes.

Forestry Awareness Week's National Mangrove Planting Project at Adelaide Beach

The Forestry Unit of the MInistry of the Environment and Natural Resources joined Waterkeepers and the 50th Independence Secretariat to observe Forestry Awareness Week.
