OMG!!!!! A Rated C!!!!! You can't be serious!!! It's only rated PG13 in the States. I think a T rating or B would have been more appropriate.

Tina  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 10:26 AM

Besides the point of fact that it is a book series for teens.

This is why The Bahamas is failing in everything.  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 03:22 PM

Seriously, you guys need to fire whoever rates your movies. You realize this movie is based off of a book series for TEENS right?

a very pissed off hunger games fan  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 03:24 PM

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CHANGE THE RATING.OR YOU WILL LOSE MONEY.ALOT. OF. MONEY.

Robert  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 03:35 PM

This movie shouldn't be rated C. I hope whoever the person is that rates these movies realizes that he/she is rating a movie made for teenagers (specifically people like me) as an adult film.

A FURIOUS The Hunger Games fan.  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 03:43 PM

Just called Galleria at the mall. THEY can't change it because The Bahamas film rating people or WHATEVER they called has rated it C, and that's final unless they decide to change it.This is the STUPIDEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD. The book was made for TEENS.The movie is obviously based off of a book for TEENS.What is the demographic for this film? TEENS.I am 16 years old and have been waiting for this movie for months. MONTHS. And you go and pull this stupidity?Biggest amount of garbage I have ever heard.Yeah, the books are violent. But that is why the director cut down on the blood and gore so that the movie can keep a PG-13 RATING.Even a Rated B I can understand(cuse you know Bahamians are conservative and the sight of blood makes them want to BAN a movie). BUT C?I strongly urge that Galleria Cinemas contact the people who rate the films and INFORM them of the many pissed off people, and the large amounts of money they will be losing this weekend.Just disgraceful.

john  Fri, 2012/03/23 - 05:19 PM

The bahamas film board sets the ratings. Not Galleria. If it were up to them, everything would be rated G so that they could get money from every age group, and not just 18 and over.

haha.  Sat, 2012/03/24 - 08:01 AM

How's the money loss going?

nae  Sat, 2012/03/24 - 09:22 AM

this got to be a joke! u loss big time...so like tell me have it go.

sucks on you guys.  Sat, 2012/03/24 - 07:31 PM

Just came back from watching the movie. It was great. Anyway. The movie theater was EMPTY. EMP-TY. It should have been PACKED. How do I know? I saw a lot of people being turned away because of their age. If the people who rated the movie, would have WATCHED THE MOVIE to see that the violence was GREATLY cut down, they could have given it an appropriate rating.Well I don't care. I was able to get in and watch the movie. That's all that matters.

Very mad at Galleria cinemas  Sun, 2012/03/25 - 09:01 AM

I am 17 years old, i have read the books 3 times over - and once more recently to refresh my memory for the MOVIE. i was turned away at the door, telling me there is a 1500 dollar fine. WHO PLEASE THAS THE ONLY WAY YALL GA MAKE MONEY. You better get these people to change the rating. This why this country so mess-up anyhow.

Horrible Rating.  Sun, 2012/03/25 - 12:48 PM

I can not believe that this movie is Rated C in The Bahamas. It is only rated PG 13 in the US. The books were excellent and everyone was looking forward to the first movie to the Hunger Games. Who ever rated this movie has to read the book, because the Hunger Game is a book for mostly TEENAGERS. These people better change the rating on the movie, or else they would not make a lot of income.

a  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 11:53 AM

Seriously though. 18 and older? I've wanted to watch this for MONTHS!

Hungergames  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 08:15 PM

ITS FOR 13 AND UP!!!!! ATLEAST 15yrs!!!:( How is the money loss going?????? Seriously speaking, I know Bahamians can be conservative but realize that much of us do much worse than the violence in the movie. I read the books and waited for the movies for months and this is what we, the fans of Hunger Games in the Bahamas recieve? This is the cause of piracy. The movies that are not rated properly are going to be found on the internet and its going to be watched. That was a bad choice for the Galleria, Bahamas film rating group and the entirety of Bahamas

Go anyway, kids.  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 08:45 PM

I'm 17, I went on a Sunday for the 1 showing out west. One of my friends was 14, his brother and his friend are 12 and 11. They let us right in. Just go kids! It's such a great movie!!!!!! No reason to be rated C, honestly the Christian Council is crazy. First trying to ban Harry Potter, now this? Please...

It's a scam.  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 08:48 PM

Everyone, they are not losing money. Why? Cuz kids are going anyway. And they have to pay adult price instead of kids. They're actually "legally" cheating kids of their money. They've done it for everything, including Harry Potter like that guy said. Unbelievable, if you're gonna steal our money, do a better job of hiding it.

Very angry :(  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 09:05 PM

Must be capitol people. The bad kind.

  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 09:27 PM

It time for the Film and Plays Control Board to disbanded. They are a narrow minded group of hypocrites.

  Mon, 2012/03/26 - 09:34 PM

Parents should decide which movies are suitable for their children to see, not a group of poorly informed people.

Anonymous 1  Fri, 2012/03/30 - 10:53 AM

Uhhh, guys. I am not taking sides here, however, everyone is making the same argument and sadly, the argument being made is the wrong one. It is irrelevant what was written in the BOOKS, who the BOOKS were meant to be read by, or even who the writer might have intended to view the movie. The ONLY thing that matters is WHAT IS INSIDE THE MOVIE and if after viewing THE MOVIE (NOT reading the books), whether there just cause to give it a rating of C. Also, what they rated it in The United States is also irrelevant because first of all, this is The Bahamas and second of all, if you look at The US, slowly but surely they are constantly pushing the envelope and allowing some of the most slack, morally deficient programs with obscenities to be aired on TV just because it sells, people feel pressured to put it on the air and people are all about making money. Now I am not some huge advocate for The Christian Council or something, however, though this country has begun to veer off our Christian roots and the Christian path, it doesn't mean we have to just follow what everyone else is doing. Also, if we rated a C movie as a B movie JUST so that we don't lose money, then the system will suffer even more flaws than the one we are talking about cos then, it'll ONLY be about the money. Money or the possible loss of it, should never trump making the right decision. Now, having watched the movie the other day, does it deserve a C rating. Honestly, I can see why it might have been rated that. Just being honest. Though it had kids in it, there were quite a number of gory scenes which included decapitations, somebody being stung to death with an army of wasps which completely disfigured the person's body, some ghastly huge animals which were ripping a person's body to shreds, and there were other scenes I won't go into. So, again, it's irrelevant who the books were meant for and it should never come into question how much money a theatre might lose by not allowing younger kids to watch it, unless you want to openly condone a society and a set of morals where money really does buy everything. The ONLY thing that should matter is the content of the movie. If kids decide to watch it through some other means, then so be it. But if we allow/condone things just because people might find another way of getting it, then maybe we should openly allow everyone to do drugs, own illegal firearms or do whatever else they want cos they can get their hands on it anyway. This is just not a good argument. I might not always agree with everything about The Christian Council, but thank God at least we have one in this country, even though they might not always get it right. Now, do we really want to follow behind everything The US does and what others do all over the world? Well, perhaps we should consider that millions of people flock to our shores precisely because there is something so unique, so very special about our country that stands out from the rest of the world. God has blessed this country. Let's not be so quick to trade in all our values and go idly following behind every other country. Perhaps an argument can be made of the correlation behind outside influences of the media and other cultures and the departure from our own original way of life which was erupted into our crime rate being so out of control. Perhaps it is the fact that many of us have departed from our true Christian values which has now made everyone captive to these less-than-God-fearing criminals. Just something to think about.

HATER of the Christian Council and their stupid ratings  Thu, 2012/04/05 - 12:06 PM

This is the stupidest rating ever. First of all, hunger games is a teenage series of books. Similar to twilight. No one really knew about the first twilight movie because it wasn't big yet. Hunger games is big now. Galleria nor the Christian Council (whoever rates the movies) would be stupid enough to rate any twilight movie C because they know all of their money will come from the teenagers. The latest twilight movie (breaking dawn) really could have been rated C, but it was rated T because they knew where the money was coming from. The people who rate these movies probably dont know how big hunger games is, which is why they didnt rate it T. Trust me, if teenagers want to watch this movie, they don't need galleria or the christian council to tell them what they can and cant watch. That is the job of a parent. I really want to see hunger games, and i will because the internet is always available. So really Christian council, you're not saving me from anything, because i can watch this movie in the safety of my home and not have to pay 7 bucks. Im interested to see if the 'raters' get some common sense when its time for the next movie to come out.

John  Sat, 2012/04/21 - 11:11 PM

Why is everybody obsessed with the U.S rating and the money it is supposedly loosing? WHO CARES AND GET OVER IT! This movie is making plenty of money elsewhere I’m sure their not missing our money one bit. We live in the Bahamas and we have our own rating system! If you don’t like it then move out of here!

movie critic  Sun, 2012/04/29 - 05:06 PM
