Warning Signs Against Stroke-Press Conference

On Thursday October 4th, Bayer Healthcare represented locally by Nassau Agencies LTD and Lowe's Wholesale will be launching a new anti clotting drug called Xarelto, the first of its kind.

The meeting will take place at The Imperial ball room of The Atlantis Resort at 7pm.

The press is invited to a 20 min press conference at 5pm to interview the speakers Dr Maurico Chavez(Costa Rica), Dr Conville Brown (Bahamas) and Dr James Iferenta ( Bahamas) . Warning signs against strokes will also be discussed with the press.

This launch is important because Xarelto is indicated for the treatment of blood clots (PE and DVT) as well as for preventing strokes in patients with non valvular atrial fibrillation.(AF).

PE kills more people in the Western hemisphere than AIDS, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and traffic accidents combined. Also persons with AF are 5 times more likely to have a stroke than the general population.

The current treatment for blood clots have many draw backs and despite being properly prescribed only offer protection to about 55% of persons taking them.
