We The People's Tree Planting & Community Day

We The People's Tree Planting & Community Day

Monday 1st August 2011

On August 1st, We The People will celebrate the power of the tree as it relates to community and is therefore partnering with The Bahamas Landscaping Association to provide, at cost, over 1000 trees for planting in New Providence neighborhoods. Trees will include the Pigeon Plum, the Adonadia Palm, the Royal Poinciana, Coconut Palm, Neem and the Washington Palm. Persons or communities wishing to participate can also plant a different type of tree if they so desire.

On August 1st, 2011, We The People invite one and all ? ?all a WE? ? to commit to planting trees as we all recognize this poignant moment for all Bahamians of all cultures. Let?s encourage our neighbours, our community and ourselves to plant at least one tree in front of our residence, property or in our community on that day.

We The People and the Bahamas Landscaping Association have arranged a package of a tree and a bag of soil to be available at participating nurseries for only $25. Participating nurseries include: Caribbean Garden Centre, Monroe Landscaping, The Gardens, Native Touches, Rocky Farms, Nature's Way, Charles Rolle Native Stone and Trees, and Foliage Express. Foliage Express out of Florida is providing trees at cost to supplement those that cannot be obtained locally.
