Since 2013, Dr. Tracy King Clinical (Psychologist at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre) has chaired the annual Suicide Preventions Day Committee. The events of Suicide Prevention Day is designed to provide the public with the information necessary to recognize the early warning signs of suicidal thoughts and skills to assist in preventing follow through.

This year, Dr. King has considered taking the forum to the general public observing the theme, ?TAKE A MINUTE, CHANGE A LIFE?. Recognizing that Suicide Prevention has become a major Public Health issue, it has become necessary to make the information available to a larger population, making us all responsible take time to observe those around us for possible signs.

The proposed plan is to host the celebrations in Parliament Square, Bay Street, an area that is frequented by many both natives and visitors, all of whom may need help or know of someone who is in need of help and would like to offer assistance. This is therefore considered an ideal venue to shed light on this issue.
