Description

Built on old plantation grounds, the course provides history and natural beauty with the most challenging golf to be found anywhere in the Bahamas.

The origins of this magnificent 160 acre property situated on the southern coast of Nassau dates back to the 1780s when it was granted to British Loyalist Peter Edwards.

The remaining stone ruins and rambling wall overlooking the ocean - remnants of his past plantation 'great house' and outbuildings - have been carefully preserved as an historical centerpiece. They can be found on the hill between the 11th and 12th tees. His land was later amalgamated with those of the Moss family, whose own plantation was called Promised Land.

Scattered remains suggest that the area was known to the aboriginal Lucayans, who may well have regarded the two impressive 'blue holes' near the present 15th and 17th greens as sacred features.

The rolling oceanside hills originally covered with what naturalists call Bahamian broadleaf coppice were described by Columbus as 'marvelous groves' of trees. Abundant with singing birds, this landscape still has a mystical appeal today.
