QuickBooks Beginners and Intermediate Training

Here are FIVE (5) reasons why you MUST register your staff in our intense Quickbooks training offered by The BCCEC Chamber Institute:

These practical and interactive sessions will be facilitated by the Quickbook Master Clayton Gardiner, in the main boardroom of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and persons successfully completing the program will be awarded a certification of completion and achievement. The program is scheduled for May 21st-23rd beginning at 9am until 3pm.

This program is normally offered through private consultancies for $300 per day, but closing our Spring Calendar, the Institute offers to BCCEC members the three day program for $398 members and $458 for non members (breakfast and lunch included).

If you're interested in doing the beginners or intermediate course only, the cost is $199 members and $229 non-members. Beginners course will be held on Tuesday 21st, 2013 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Wednesday 22nd 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Intermediate course will be held on Wednesday 22nd 1p.m.-4p.m. and Thursday 23rd 9a.m-4p.m. Early registration is required because space is limited. LAPTOPS ARE REQUIRED.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Jamaica

The Bahamas will make history on May 23, 2013 as its new $30 million Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium will serve as host to an exhibition match between Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and the Jamaican national football team on Nassau Paradise Island.

Both teams accepted an invitation from the Government of The Bahamas, which set the stage for the first match featuring a Premier League Club in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The match will also mark one of the major events in the new 15,000-seat stadium as well as in the year-long celebration of The Bahamas’ 40th anniversary of independence. The stadium and the country hosting two world-class soccer teams in this international event is another indication of The Bahamas’ growth in prominence over the past four decades.

The Lupus ME? Foundation, is a non profit organization, that seeks to promote awareness of lupus in the Bahamas. We aim to partner with others in providing information about the causes effect and treatment of Lupus. In addition we also seek to provide assistance where necessary to persons diagnosed with lupus.

Our call to action motto is "Walk A Loop" which encourages lupus survivors and supporters to take a short loop walk subject to physical limitations.

As we are fitness oriented, we will be encouraging you to "Walk A Loop" sporting our T- shirts, hats and other Lupus ME? Foundation products.

We are focused on providing good-quality products and relevant information that you will find useful in promoting awareness of lupus.

About Us
The Cancer Society offers education, health care, counselling and support.

From its formation in 1976 until 1986, cancer patients were able to apply for financial assistance from the Society if medical treatment was needed abroad. However, in 1986, due to the exorbitant medical costs involved, a policy decision was made to discontinue financial assistance to individual patients and instead channel funds towards improving equipment and facilities for cancer detection and treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as to intensify public educational programmes about cancer.

The Society has since made several donations:

-fibreopticbronchoscope
-mammogram machine
-protective hood and apparatus for the safe mixing of chemotherapy drugs
-port-a-cath implant systems for chemotherapy patients
-educational scholarships

In 1991, the Society furnished and equipped a modern Oncology Unit on the grounds of the Princess Margaret Hospital for the purpose of administering chemotherapy treatments.

May is the official Cancer Awareness Month when the Society places particular emphasis on Education with continual media exposure throughout the country. Cancer literature, T-shirts promoting non-smoking, videos and educational tools are all in evidence at this time.

Throughout the year, the services of the Society are used widely by public health workers, service groups and schools who invite speakers to talk about cancer and share the educational material which the Society keeps in large supply. The public is encouraged to make use of these services.

In February 1990, the Society, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health launched a National Pap Smear and Breast Screening Campaign throughout The Bahamas as a method of prevention and early detection, and to compile statistics of these cancers. Each month a team of volunteer doctors and nurses visit the Family Islands to carry out Pap Smears and Prostate Cancer Screeningt.

The Cancer Society continues its educational programme, increasing public awareness to all forms of cancer, the importance of screening for cancer of the cervix, breast and prostate as a method of prevention and early detection and treatment. The Society also plans to establish more Family Island Branches and to work closely with the Ministry of Health to develop a Cancer Registry in The Bahamas. It also is raising funds for the continued maintenance of a Cancer Care Centre.
