Nassau City Opera presents "Porgy & Bess"

Porgy and Bess tells the story of Porgy, a disabled black beggar living in the Catfish Row slum of Charleston, South Carolina. It deals with his attempts to rescue Bess from the clutches of Crown, her violent and possessive lover, and Sportin' Life, the drug dealer and deals with themes of love and abuse. Its more familiar songs include Summertime, It Ain't Necessarily So, Bess, You is My Woman Now, I Loves You Porgy and Oh I Can't Sit Down. Tickets available at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts at 393-3728.

We're hosting a fund-raising soccer tournament at Winton Rugby Centre on Sunday July 10th.
5-a-side - 2 divisions
Over 35s (Social)
All age (Competitive)
5-a-side Tournament ? 8 players to a squad
Two Divisions: Maximum 6 teams/division
All Age ? Competitive Division
Over 35 ? Social Division(squad can include up to 2 players who are over 30)
Entry Fee: $125/team (includes free T-shirt for each player)
Each team is guaranteed at least 4 games.
Team Registration opens at 12 noon
First game kicks off at 1pm
Game length: 15 minutes (no half time)
