IGNITE is Chef Simeon Hall Jr.’s latest food venture in his stellar series of events and will bring together the talents of several Bahamian, Caribbean and other global Chefs all who will be assisted by UB students to participate in an event reminiscent of the way our ancestors prepared food in The Bahamas – with no gas, no electricity, and no modern equipment. Just amazing culinary dishes prepared with raw skills and authentic talent!

Ignite: Bahamian Culinary History - Retold
The main event will feature twelve (12) Chefs; Bahamian, Caribbean and International, relying solely on pure culinary genius, to prepare and serve a delightful meal without any gas, electricity or modern equipment. Specifically invited guests will be treated to dishes, musical and artistic performances which will highlight and reinvent traditional Bahamian cultural experiences and retell Bahamian history through a vibrant culinary and artistic lens.

Where: B T V I, Old Trail Road
Time: 9:30.a.m. - 3.00 p.m.
Other: Helmets, Overalls, other equipment and teaching materials provided.
Certificates awarded at completion Parents permission must be given
Fee: $125 per week. 30 Places per Week
Edukarting A One Week programme taught by industry professionals to encourage a love of motor sport; team building; road safety; and an introduction to associated disciplines with future marketable skills:- marketing; creativity; automotive repairs; mechanics; leadership: business and financial skills.

Citizen Science Saturday At Ardastra Gardens Zoo

Mosquitoes are the world’s most dangerous animal, but monitoring efforts can bring early warning of potential disease outbreaks. Our citizen scientists will use the GLOBE Observer App to report potential mosquito habitats and the presence of mosquito larvae.
Paired with satellite observations of temperature, water and vegetation, scientists can forecast a communities’ risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
Mark your calendars for our FREE program designed for the whole family- Citizen Science Saturdays!
Each month, we will get involved with a different citizen science project and learn how to contribute valuable data to scientists here at home and all over the world.
This month we will learn how to get involved with I SEE CHANGE to investigate how weather and climate change are impacting our communities and environment.
Children can earn community service hours for participating.
Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
