CariFringe is an annual ten day regional arts and culture festival

(Photos) Crabbin Bay Jr. Sailing Regatta Report

This past weekend Grand Bahama Sailing Club participated in the 1st Annual Crabbin' Bay Regatta & Festival.

The
community of McLeans Town invited GBSC to put on a sailing regatta
while activities and entertainment were running beach side. Food and
drinks were also available for sale from local venders. The Ministry of
Tourism was generous enough to provide food and awards for all 18 of the
GBSC sailors.

This
venue was the first time GBSC has showcased the new fleet of Flying
Juniors, a double-handed one-design sailing dinghy. This was also the
first time the GBSC junior sailors have competed in a Team Race event.
Team racing involves the sailors

(Photos) Flowers of The Caribbean Tea Party Fashion Show a great success

Nassau, Bahamas - Under the theme

"Flowers
of The Caribbean", The Sir Victor (Bahamas) Heart Ball Committee jump started
their fund raising activities with their 5th Annual Tea Party & Fashion
Show. The festivities were held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2:30 at
Government House.

  The air was filled
with laughter, music by Gary "Super" Johnson, and the sweet aroma of teas,
flowers and sweet perfume. The guests were all elegantly dressed for the occasion.
The event was MC'd by Ms. Bodine Johnson and kindly supported by the Acting
Governor General Janet Bostwick.

 

This fun-filled
afternoon of elegance consisted of a fashion show, a hat parade and a table
decorating contest. Teas were provided by the Island Rose Teas

(Photos) Humane Society of Grand Bahama Dog Show a Howling Success!

Alex Major's "Diego" wins Best in Show

Freeport, Bahamas -  The 27th Annual Humane Society of Grand Bahama Dog Show was a howling
success!  Thanks to over 75 dogs and over 300 people who took part,
Mother Nature also cooperated by providing perfect weather.  The White
Elephant Tent Sale provided shopping bonanzas, the kids enjoyed pony
rides, face painting and hoopla games; everyone enjoyed the grilled
delicacies, from beef to chicken to fish to hotdogs, and the candy/baked
goods; but the stars of the day were the amazing dogs of many different
breeds!

It is always a pleasure to see so many happy, well-cared for dogs in
one place.  From two pounds to 150 pounds, all the dogs got along and
were happy to be there.  We only wish there could be blue ribbons for
all; this year's contestants ...
