BIFF Announces REEL LIFE Documentary Competition
BTC Sponsors "REEL LIFE" to Explore Social Issues Affecting Community

Nassau, Bahamas – April 22, 2008 - The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) announced a call for submissions from emerging Bahamian filmmakers between the ages of 10 - 25 for a new documentary competition sponsored by The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC.) The topics will focus on the Bahamian community or cultural awareness in general as it pertains to filmmakers' experiences as Bahamians. The announcement was made by BIFF Founder and Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool, who said, "We are always looking for ways to encourage young Bahamians to express themselves through film. There is a tremendous amount of talent out there waiting for a venue and a platform and BIFF wants to provide that to the next batch of emerging filmmakers."

Documentary Format / Length
Final submission to be presented in DVD format and must be 10-20 minutes in length. May include dialogue and commentary.

Awards/ Prizes
Grand Prize $1000.00 cash prize, competition reception and special recognition at BIFF '08
