Sir Sean Connery to Present Career Achievement Award

Sir Sean Connery will attend the 3rd Annual Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) to present the BIFF Career Achievement Tribute at a Gala Event sponsored by Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch (LODH) to Nicolas Cage, his co-star in The Rock.


Cage, an Oscar® Winner, and Bahamian resident, will receive the BIFF Chopard Career Achievement Award on Friday, December 8th at the Atlantis Theatre at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino.


Over the four day festival, BIFF will screen a selection of Nicolas Cage’s films including: Face/Off, Adaptation and Wild at Heart. There will also be a conversation with the actor, moderated by a well known personality, during which additional highlights of Mr. Cage’s career will be presented, following the conversation with Nicolas Cage the audience will have an opportunity to ask Mr. Cage questions about his career.

Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery, also a Bahamian resident, co-starred together in Michael Bay’s action/adventure film The Rock, in which Cage played a FBI chemical weapons expert thrown together with incorrigible prisoner and Alcatraz escapee Connery.


BIFF gets underway December 7th at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino located on Paradise Island and Galleria 6 JFK in Nassau, Bahamas and will screen more than fifty films over the four-day event. The festival has four juried competition categories; the "Spirit of Freedom” including Narrative and Documentary films presented by Chopard; and the "New Visions” award presented by Hard Rock Café. Other film programs include "World Cinema,” "Special Screenings,” "Family Films,” "Caribbean Spotlight,” and a new component added this year "East Meets West,” which will showcase films from Eastern Europe, India, East Asia and the Pacific Islands.


Bahamas International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local community and International visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world.
