Dr Hubert A Minnis Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Oxford Medical Centre. Affectionately called "Doc", I was born in Bain Town to Rosalie North and Randolph Minnis owner of the well known Minnis Service Station, and I am very proud of My Bain Town Roots
I attended the Our Lady's Primary School, Western Junior and St Augustine College, Nassau and the University of Minnesota, USA.
I am an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist by profession however I have decided to enter front line politics and offer myself as a servant to the great constituents of Killarney.
I am married to the former Patricia Beneby and am the father of three sons: Tremaine, Jamil and Runako.
After obtaining my Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the West Indies and MRCOG from London in 1985, I returned home and began serving the Bahamian people as a physician at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
There I served as a Consultant and Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as Deputy Chief of Staff.
I am also a former President of the Medical Association of The Bahamas, Member of the Medical Council and Chairman of the Hotel Corporation of The Bahamas, and an associate lecturer at the University of West Indies in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
I worship at Resurrection Catholic Church.
I am also a Junkanoo fan and I am an avid participant in the great Shell Saxons Superstar Junkanoo group.
At present I am The Member of Parliament for the great Killarney constituency in New Providence and the Minister of Health of The Bahamas
